The Renaissance School
An early childhood collaborative

A preschool program at Immanuel Lutheran Church

Open House - March 5, 2005 - from 2-3:30 - click for information

Immanuel is happy and proud to be the location of the new Renaissance School, a preschool program in the tradition that was available for many years at the UMass Early Childhood Laboratory School. Renaissance is offering a place for teachers and parents to "reawaken" their thoughts about teaching and learning with a special emphasis on art, music, creativity and problem-solving. The educational philosophy of the school is consistent with an approach inspired by the internationally acclaimed educators of Reggio Emilia, Italy (see http://zerosei.comune.re.it/inter/).  We strive to create an innovative curriculum, a warm child-centered environment that is respectful of the learner, and a supportive partnership with families.

The Renaissance School operates on the academic school year calendar similar to the Amherst Public Schools. The preschool will be open Monday through Thursday mornings, 9:00 am through 12:00 noon.
